About Vietnamese Youth Foundation
Vietnamese Youth Foundation is an international,
non-profit youth development organization with
headquarters from San Diego California to Sydney
Australia. Vietnamese Youth Foundation inspires the
youths of today to discover and develop their personal
best, to seek balance in their mental, physical and
social living to make a positive difference in their
communities and across the world. Integrity is a
corner-stone value for our organization; it can never
be compromised nor negotiated. We strive for openness
and honesty in our interactions. We seek to be direct
and kind with each other about our ideas, issues, and
concerns. We believe that a healthy balance between
our personal and professional lives creates a persons
balance in four-fold living.
History
The Vietnamese Youth Foundation was founded in January
1994 by a group of committed Vietnamese Students.
These students set out to create a project that would
be community beneficial, empower and give hope to
young Vietnamese. Initially, it was designed as an
educational tool and a meeting center to encourage
these students to express their passion, to be
actively involved in and to fully exercise their
valuable talent to help their community; the result
was far more inspirational than expected. Vinh Nguyen,
President of Vietnamese Youth Foundation, spent one
and a half years consulting with local businesses and
councilmen, about what was missing in the current
condition of the Vietnamese generation. These early
conversations, which included discussions with mayors,
councilmen, and religious leaders, discovered while
Vietnamese community has progressed, but yet an even
greater number of Vietnamese youths are beginning to
forget the tradition, beliefs, and culture of Vietnam.
Today, Vietnamese Youth Foundation has grown from an
idea to a truly global organization with a presence of
over 24 chapters. Together, Vietnamese Youth
Foundation and its partners have reached thousands of
youths from around the world.
